Aliens Vs Predator:Requiem UK Movie Review
Let's start this film review off by saying I only watched this movie to see if it was as bad as the first one, sure enough it was worse. In the first movie Aliens Vs Predator their grudge match took place in Antarctica, keeping the rest of the world unaware of their existence. However this time around their battle takes place in sub urban America.
AVP: Requiem takes place minutes after the first movie where an Alien manages to get on board the Predators space ship and wreak havoc causing the big ship to crash back on Earth. Like the first movie the reason for both the extraterrestrial races wanting to destroy each other is not addressed and to be honest nothing else in this movie is really thought out.
Only two scenes in this movie stick in your mind one of those scenes is the opening scene where an Alien leaches onto a young kids face and kills him in regular alien fashion and one is also when an Alien kills another human being, this time a pregnant woman where the Alien explodes out of her stomach. Other than those two scenes Alien Vs Predator: Requiem is a bland, boring, UN-eventful movie. The only reason Alien Vs Predator came to be was to try to save a dying franchise. The first Alien Vs Predator failed and the sequel has hopefully killed off any possibilities of there being a Trilogy.
The increased gore and violence over the first Alien vs. Predator can't excuse Requiem's disorientating editing, excessively murky lighting, and lack of new ideas. The only good thing that came out of this movie is the fact that it has killed off the possibility of a Trilogy. Aliens Vs Predator: Requiem Gets 0 stars out of 5
